Event: “Mad Max” Madness at Wasteland Weekend 2011
The Wasteland Weekend is a 3-day post-apocalyptic party that brings together hundreds of Mad Max fanatics, replica vehicles and fire fights. This year, the party will take place on September 23-25 in the Mojave desert right outside Los Angeles, California.
The Judgement Day cultists may have been wrong about May 21st, but the apocalypse IS coming. And it’s going to feature lots of young Californians in mohawks and leather.
Experience the Apocalypse Sept 23rd–25th at Wasteland Weekend 2011, a 3-day post-apocalyptic party in the Southern California desert. Slated to occur in the Mojave desert north of Los Angeles, the costumes-mandatory event promises to build on the success of Wasteland Weekend 2010, an event which brought out some 400 people, was covered by G4 and the Associated Press, and was honored by a special acknowledgement from Mad Max film franchise director, George Miller.
Wasteland Weekend features themed vehicles, post-apocalyptic sports, Bartertown vendors and hundreds of impressively costumed attendees. Nightfall brings live music, stunt shows, metal grinders and fire dancers.

Video: The Skeletal Man
Marco sent in this video, produced by Jeff Lowe, that showcases the 4 hours of outlineing and six hours of shading to create an entire skeleton on his back. Either he loves anatomy, or he is dead set on being one creepy s.o.b.

Principal in awesome Iron Man suit
I don't know about your high school graduation, but mine was kind of boring. If only I'd had a principal like THIS guy!
Video: Epic Anime Time
Yung Lee went to Anime North, gave a bunch of random, confused, bemused cosplayers a few choreography tips, and then edited the video into awesomeness. See below for the making of, and to show that yeah, he filmed all of this stuff on the spot, with cosplayers he’d never met before.
Rob Bricken of Topless Robot writes: "You know, if one guy can make these kind of action scenes with random, obviously non-professional martial artists, on his computer, I kind of think there's no excuse for any movie or TV show to have a shitty action scene ever. Ever. Entertainment industry, shape the fuck up."

Video: Garrus (Mass Effect 2)
Garrus (Mass Effect 2) costume made by Robert Rodgers of My Wicked Armor
"This Garrus project was a bit more difficult than I thought it would be. The costume has at least 75 LED’s on/in it! But the lighting is one of the things that attracted me to this costume. I especially enjoyed the eye gear. Photos and videos just do not capture how neat the eye piece looks. I think the whole costume requires nine 9V batteries if you want the lights to work for a few hours. Fortunately, the armor is very lightweight, including the massive chest piece which I designed to split into two pieces for shipping and transport. And I am aware that Garrus does not have a tail- I just forgot to attach the butt plate strap before the video."

Iron Man's Work Day
Wang Kang, a run-of-the-mill office dude working in Shanghai, had a dream: He wanted to go to work dressed as Iron Man. So one day, he woke up and started working on his costume, and 3 months later, he had a perfectly awesome-looking, 50-kilogram suit made from high density foam and wires, ready to terrorize his work colleagues. Check him out below as he walks through his office, ready to blast anyone away at the first offense.
You can see more work in progress pictures of the suit and his other projects at his website.

Video: Ravenclaws
Here's a parody of Rebecca Black's "Friday" sung by a serious Harry Potter fan about the Ravenclaws, the nerdiest of all the Harry Potter houses. It's awesome both because its true, with the exception of Hermione, the Gryffindors were idiots. Also she kind of owns Rebecca Black, seeing as she manages to sing the entire song without autotune and with better lyrics to boot.
You can download the mp3 from Supload.

Kids: Sith Apprentice Interview
Sariah Gallego is the cute kid who recently became majorly internet famous for pledging her allegiance to Darth Vader in the middle of a stage show at the Disney Star Wars experience. Well, here's the inevitable follow up interview. She talks about her love of Star Wars in general and the Sith in particular.
It's a bit funny that she already has her own "Sithgirl" banner and shirt. Clearly, her parents are rolling with the internet fame, as opposed to trying to steer her clear of the questionable interest of the interest, but for now, the whole thing is still pretty funny.

Kids: New Sith Apprentice
Little Sariah Gallego picks a rather awkward time to swear allegiance to the Dark Side during a stage show at Disneyland. I love how the Stormtrooper gives an arm pump when she kneels.

Iron Man Cosplay Of The Day
Inspired by Iron Man 2, Ryan Brooks built the world’s first Iron Man Mark V Briefcase suit of armor out of 4,000 LEGO technic pieces over the course of 1,200 man hours. Brooks won Best In Show last month at ComicCon Toronto 2011 with this costume. Here's a video of him stepping into his costume. If you're interested in building your own, here are the instructions.

Video: Krampus Parade
We Americans totally need to begin working the Krampus into our Christmas traditions - anything to make Christmas a little more like Halloween.

Cosplay With My Heart (Bruno Mars Parody)
Is there even such a thing as a real life girl too into cosplay? Still, I love how they portray the girl's decent into more and more eccentric costumes. Slave Leia, Leia, Elektra, Manga Girl, Larp Barbarian, Furry... that really ought to be the universal standard crazy-to-hot ratio scale. I highly approve.
